The City of San Ramon Parks and Community Services Department expanded its autumn older-adult programming at the Alcosta Senior and Community Center on Wednesday, opening additional appointment slots for free Medicare Open Enrollment counseling alongside seasonal fall-prevention and nutrition workshops. Hosted at 9300 Alcosta Boulevard in partnership with the Contra Costa County Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program, the clinics provide unbiased, state-registered guidance for Tri-Valley retirees evaluating 2027 healthcare coverage.

Certified HICAP volunteer counselors meet individually with San Ramon, Danville, and Alamo residents to compare Medicare Part D prescription drug formularies, Medicare Advantage network changes, and supplemental Medigap policies ahead of the December 7 federal enrollment deadline. Because HICAP advisors do not sell insurance products or receive commissions, older adults and family caregivers receive objective cost calculators tailored to their specific medications and local medical groups.

Alongside benefits navigation, recreation coordinators at the Alcosta Senior Center introduced expanded weekday wellness classes inside the center's garden rooms, including evidence-based Matter of Balance mobility training, gentle tai chi, and registered dietitian cooking demonstrations. The San Ramon Senior Foundation also confirmed that its weekday nutrition café continues to serve hot midday lunches at 11:30 a.m. with advance twenty-four-hour reservations.

San Ramon residents aged fifty-five and older can book a forty-five-minute HICAP counseling session or register for autumn wellness workshops by calling the Alcosta Senior and Community Center reception desk at (925) 973-3250 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Full program schedules and senior shuttle transportation details are posted online at sanramon.ca.gov.
