Neighborhood associations and municipal recreation teams across Danville and Alamo launched registration on Wednesday for the highly anticipated 2026 Fall Home Decoration Showcase, inviting local residents to transform outdoor porches, front yards, and garden walkways into festive autumn celebrations. The annual community tradition brings families, neighbors, and visiting sightseers together to celebrate the changing season through creative outdoor lighting and harvest artistry.

The town-sponsored competition invites property owners to enter displays across four distinct evaluation categories: Harvest Heritage, Spooktacular Spirits, Cozy Lantern Loft, and the Festival of Lights. Town recreation coordinators noted that participants are encouraged to incorporate sustainable autumn elements, including heirloom pumpkins from local regional growers, recycled timber fencing, hand-carved scarecrows, and energy-efficient warm LED illumination to minimize residential electrical usage while creating enchanting evening displays.

Volunteer community judging panels, composed of local merchants, high school student leaders, and art commissioners, will conduct evening walking tours between October 23 and October 26 to evaluate registered homes based on creativity, craftsmanship, daytime appeal, and nighttime lighting impact. Winners in each category will receive celebratory town yard signs, gift certificates to downtown retail shops, and formal commendation plaques presented during a regular Danville Town Council session in November.

Danville and Alamo civic organizers highlighted that the seasonal event fosters neighborhood camaraderie and provides safe, walkable outdoor evening excursions for families throughout the San Ramon Valley. Following registration closure, the town will publish an interactive digital walking tour map highlighting participating addresses along Front Street, Diablo Road, and adjoining residential lanes, allowing families to plan self-guided weekend strolls and bicycle rides across the scenic suburban corridor throughout the harvest season.

Resident registration is free and open through Monday, October 19, at 5:00 p.m. through the Danville Parks and Recreation portal at danville.ca.gov or by calling the community center front desk at (925) 314-3400. Families and visitors can download the official 2026 Autumn Showcase Trail map online beginning October 21 to explore local displays through Halloween weekend.
